Edward L. Bowen, an award-winning writer and racing historian, has a unique perspective on this year's Belmont Stakes. Bowen's latest book is Nashua, part of the Thoroughbred Legends series. Nashua won the 1955 Belmont and became a superstar in the early years of television.

Bowen also is the author of a biography of Man o' War, the 1920 Belmont Stakes winner and Horse of the Century.
