DARE AND GO HEADLINES SUNDAY'S $100,000 BEL AIR HANDICAP
After his fifth-place finish behind stablemate Siphon in the June 30 Hollywood Gold Cup (Gr. I), Dare And Go will wheel right back as the highweight in Sunday's $100,000 Bel Air Handicap (Gr. II).

"This will be bringing him back a little quick," Mandella said. "But he can handle it, he's a tough guy."

The 1995 Strub Stakes (Gr. I) winner pressed the pace in the Gold Cup and was third at the stretch call but faded to finish 7 1/2 lengths behind Siphon.

"He ran a good 1 1/8, but didn't have enough to finish," he explained. "I tried not pushing too hard before the Gold Cup, keeping him on the fresh side. But it looked like I didn't do enough with him."

In other developments:

Post positions from the rail out for the 27th running of the Bel Air Handicap, to be run Sunday, July 14 at 1 1/16 miles: Dare And Go, Corey Nakatani, 120; Flying Marfa, Rene Douglas, 113; R Friar Tuck, Brice Blanc, 112; Dernier Empereur, Goncalino Almeida, 113; Moving Tribute, Matt Garcia, 110; The Exeter Man, Eddie Delahoussaye, 116, and Cleante, Chris McCarron, 116.

HOLLYWOOD PARK TO SIMULCAST CIGAR IN CITATION CHALLENGE SATURDAY
Cigar will go for his sixteenth consecutive victory as he squares off against Honour And Glory, Unbridled's Song, Dramatic Gold, Eltish and others in Saturday's Arlington Citation Challenge. The race will be simulcast to Hollywood Park with a post time of 2:45 p.m. Wagering at Hollywood Park will be commingled with Arlington.

Sunday's simulcast schedule will include the Delaware Handicap, 1:15 p.m. and the Lexington from Belmont Park, 2:10 p.m.

$1.7-MILLION SUPER SUNDAY SET FOR JULY 21 AT HOLLYWOOD PARK

SPECIAL NOON POST TIME SUPER SUNDAY, JULY 21
There will be a special noon post time on Super Sunday, July 21. There will be no early bird wagering, as gates open at 9:30 a.m. The featured $700,000 Caesars Palace Turf Championship (Gr. II) will be run as the fourth live race with an approximate post time of 1:40 p.m.

ESPN will televise the $700,000 Caesars Palace Turf Championship nationally from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. (PDT) on Sunday, July 21. The 1 1/2-mile turf endurance event will be run as the fourth live race with an approximate post time of 1:40 p.m.

AWAD TO TEST SANDPIT AGAIN IN $700,000 CAESARS PALACE TURF CHAMPIONSHIP
Trainer David Donk is beginning to tire of flying around the country trying to beat Sandpit. His turf runner Awad will go after Sandpit for the third consecutive time in next Sunday's $700,000 Caesars Handicap.

"I don't think I can beat Sandpit," said trainer David Donk from his barn in New York. "Not unless we get lucky somehow."

Awad ran third behind Sandpit in the Hollywood Turf Handicap (Gr. I), and then could do no better than a fourth behind the Brazilian import in the Caesars International (Gr. I) at Atlantic City.

Awad is winless in five starts this year, but has earned $166,188.

"He's (Awad) been a real honest horse this year," he said. "His races are okay, but everytime he makes a run and comes home with a chunk of it."

Awad is scheduled to fly in from New York Wednesday, with Lassigny and the California horses returning from the Citation Challenge in Chicago.

Donk's main concern is that the race might set up against him.

"Sandpit has good tactical speed but my horse is strictly a one-run horse," Donk said. "This race doesn't really set up for him. I'm hoping to get a big piece of it, but we'll have to hope Sandpit or somebody else stubs their toe."

Probables for the Caesars Palace Turf Championship, to be run Sunday, July 21 at 1 1/2 miles on the turf: Sandpit, Corey Nakatani; Windsharp, Eddie Delahoussaye; Awad, Chris McCarron; Lassigny, no rider; Talloires, Kent Desormeaux.

LUKAS TO SEND PRINCE OF THIEVES, VICTORY SPEECH IN $500,000 SWAPS
Prince Of Thieves, the half-brother to 1995 Preakness winner Timber Country, has yet to fulfill the promise he hinted at with a smashing win in the Santa Catalina Stakes this February. The Hansel colt finished third in the Kentucky Derby (Gr. I), before running seventh in the Preakness (Gr. I) and fifth behind stablemate Editor's Note in the Belmont Stakes (Gr. I).

"We've been optimistic about him all year," said assistant trainer Jeff Lukas. "We're just waiting for him to put it all together."

Stablemate Victory Speech, who rolled to a 5 1/2-length victory in the July 6 Dwyer Handicap (Gr. II) at Belmont Park, will likely be a $20,000 supplement to the Swaps according to the younger Lukas.

In other developments:

Zanferrier worked seven furlongs in 1:28 4/5 Friday morning.

Probables for the 23rd running of the Swaps (Gr. II), to be run Sunday, July 21 at 1 1/8 miles: Hesabull, Eddie Delahoussaye; Semoran, Chris McCarron; Prince Of Thieves, no rider; Slews Royal Son, Brice Blanc; Zanferrier, no rider.

Possible: Victory Speech, no rider.

DOLLASE HAS JEWEL PRINCESS READY FOR VANITY
After upsetting Serena's Song in the Louisville Breeders' Cup (Gr. II), Jewel Princess suffered narrow losses to Borodislew and Twice The Vice in her next two starts. The 4-year-old filly could face all three of those rivals in next Sunday's $250,000 Vanity Handicap.

"She lost some ground but ran very well last time," Dollase said. "This time she'll have a little more distance and that could help us."

Jewel Princess has won half of her six starts this year, while never finishing more than 3/4 of a length back in any of her losing efforts.

"She'll probably get a little break after this," Dollase said. "Our ultimate goal is the Breeders' Cup Distaff."

The Vanity Handicap is an invitational race with weights and invites to be published Sunday.

SWISS YODELER PUTS PERFECT RECORD ON LINE IN HOLLYWOOD JUV. CHAMPIONSHIP
Swiss Yodeler will try to join his filly counterpart Starry Ice by sweeping the 2-year-old stakes at the meeting. Perfect in three starts, including wins in The Westchester and Haggin Stakes, Swiss Yodeler will look to make it four straight in next Sunday's Hollywood Juvenile Championship (Gr. II).

"I always thought he was a nice horse," Harrington said. "But I never expected him to win his first three in a row."

The Eastern Echo colt has won all three races on the front end, and will have to stretch out to six furlongs for Sunday's contest.

"He has a real efficient stride and rates very nicely," he said. "If you look at his charts you might think he can only run on the lead. He's definitely not a horse that goes out and runs as fast as he can for as long as he can."

Probables for the 57th running of the Hollywood Juvenile Championship, to be run Sunday, July 21 at six furlongs: Swiss Yodeler, Red, Over Houston or The Texas Tunnel.

Possibles: Big Cowboy, Latin Dancer, Prairie Junction, Smokin Mel, Vermilion, White Bronco, Wrightwood.
